Geranium Rose essential oil was first cultivated in South Africa as early as the ancient Egyptians, Hence the name Geranium Rose Eygptian. It is a perennial shrub that is now cultivated throughout the world and shares all the properties of Geranium oil. This oil is considered to be superior, because of its Rosy floral note of the fragrance.

Its popularity soared when it was introduced to Europe in the early 17th century. It was used to flavor cakes, jams, jellies and ice creams. Surprisingly, it was also used in the tobacco industry; hence the name, “Lakeland Scent”, which is the flagship of the Lake District in northwest England that used Geranium oil in flavored tobacco.
